The following study is based on work carried out in the OECD over period of 1986-1990 under the auspices of the Trade Committee on integration of developing countries into international trading system. The study contains seven chapters which consider various aspects of the questions of integration discussed within the OECD, namely: the past of present role of developing countries within the trading system under the GATT; the objetives of greater integration of these countries;the modalities of such integration;the benefits following from integration;the main areas to witch integration objetives apply; the reciprocal nature of integration;and lastly, the implementation of integration through transitional arrangements in the GATT context.
